The students should be familiar with possible applications for plastics in mechanical engineering and be able to select materials in a way that is appropriate for the application from the point of view of sustainability. In the area of sustainability, students will be able to assess design (reparability, reliability), manufacturing (energy and raw material consumption) and recycling from the point of view of sustainability. In the area of polymer engineering, students should develop an understanding of the special features of polymer material and related processing methods and machine elements made of plastics. This includes knowledge of the material properties as well as the most important processing procedures.
