Dr. Peter Fath, CEO of RCT Solutions GmbH Konstanz, reports first-hand
on the processes used in the industrial production of solar cells. After
a short introduction to the physics of a solar cell, the complete
industrial value chain is covered. The lecture starts with the
production of crystalline and microcrystalline silicon and wafer
production. Subsequently, all steps of industrial solar cell production
are worked out. The main focus is on the standard processes used in
industry. In addition, the latest developments and their significance
for industrial production are taken into account. In addition to
production, industrial characterization and its significance will be
discussed. Part of the lecture is an excursion to several well-known
companies of the solar industry.
